Update: (June 20, 2026) The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the names of those involved in the death investigation in Brandon on June 18, 2026.
Katherine Luz Evans, 52, is the victim located deceased at the scene. Anthony David Evans, 62, is considered the suspect and was pronounced deceased at TGH.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing, and we cannot release more information on the manner of death until the Medical Examiner’s Office finalizes its report.

BRANDON, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation following a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday, June 18.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Burlwood Street following reports of a shooting inside the home. Upon arrival, deputies located two adults suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. An adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene. An adult male was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary information indicates the incident appears to be domestic-related. Investigators have accounted for all individuals involved.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional information will be released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Public Affairs Office as it becomes available.
