Lakeland High School Police Academy is Back!

LAKELAND, FL – The Lakeland Police Department is looking for eager and excited teens who are interested in learning more about careers in law enforcement to participate in a one-week, hand-on experience for young people. This highly interactive program, taught by Lakeland Police Officers, allows high school students to see and experience what it’s like to work in law enforcement. Spots are limited, so sign up today!

Academy Dates: JULY 27 – 31, 2026

Times: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Location: LakelandPD Training Center, 3131 Centurion Dr.

Cost: FREE

Benefits: Academy Shirts and Lunch Provided

Criteria:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age and going into the 11th grade, 12th grade or just graduated.
  • No Arrests
  • No out of school suspensions in the last year
  • Must maintain a “C” average or better
  • Must be willing to participate in all activities (Academic and Physical)
  • Must be interested in a career in law enforcement
  • Receive parental or legal guardian approval
