POLK CITY, FL — A 35-year-old Winter Haven woman was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by two vehicles on Interstate 4 near the 43 milepost.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at approximately 12:40 a.m. on December 6, 2025, the woman was walking across the eastbound lanes of I-4 when she entered the path of an eastbound Toyota Corolla driven by a 27-year-old man from Portland, Oregon. The Corolla struck the pedestrian.
After the initial impact, the pedestrian was struck a second time by an unknown eastbound vehicle that fled the scene without stopping. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The crash remains under investigation.
