November 5, 2025 – Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Florida Department of Corrections probation officers conducted compliance checks on registered sex offenders and predators from early October through October 31, 2025.
- 1,431 sex offenders registered in Polk County
- 158 designated as sexual predators
- PCSO conducts quarterly checks; state law requires at least annual verification
Pre-Halloween Phase
- 140 offenders/predators contacted
- 14 arrested for failure to comply with registration laws
- 2 out-of-state warrants served
- 16 arrested for probation violations

- Terrell Denson (DOB 9/2/1973) – Failed to report employment change within 48 hours
- Mario Smith (10/5/1975) – Suspended FL driver’s license; failed to report residence
- Travis Thompson (12/2/1982) – Failed to report new address to DHSMV within 48 hours
- Hardey Albritton (11/20/1980) – 2 counts; failed to report vacated residence and transient status
- Charles Denson (12/22/1980) – 2 counts; failed to register vehicle; provided false information
- Moises Rodriguez (1/27/1949) – 2 counts; missed two monthly registrations; unreported social media
- Jule Vandoorn (6/6/1972) – Failed to report two residences to DHSMV
- James Hutchins (11/26/1947) – Failed to complete quarterly registration
- Elmer Hayes Jr. (4/7/1973) – 2 counts; unreported social media account

Sheriff Grady Judd stated:
“I am proud of our deputies and probation officers for their hard work to ensure that these sex offenders and predators are complying with their court-mandated registrations and requirements. This is time consuming, but absolutely necessary. Our simple message is this—if you’ve been placed on the sex offender/predator registry, we will keep track of you, and we will hold you accountable for any violations, period.”
Florida Registration Requirements
Offenders must report within 48 hours: name, SSN, physical description, photo, residence, vehicles, employment, phones, email, social media, driver’s license/ID.
