Bartow, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation began a resurfacing project on US 98 from SR 60 to CR 540A. The project includes resurfacing the roadway, opening the median at Lyle Parkway, and adding a traffic signal at the intersection. Work involves removing old asphalt, repaving with new asphalt, repaving side street entrances, and installing new signal sensors at signalized intersections.

At Lyle Parkway, improvements include a new traffic signal, enhanced drainage, widened turn radii at the northwest and southeast corners, a raised concrete pad on the northwest corner for pedestrian protection, intersection lighting, high-visibility crosswalks, and pedestrian signals. Construction starts with the installation of signs and erosion control devices, with resurfacing to follow. The project is expected to continue through early 2027. Nighttime lane closures are anticipated. Nothing further at this time.
