Hit-and-Run Crash Injures Two Teens on Motorcycle: FHP

Update: Following the Sunday, October 12th crash on US-19, FHP Troopers have worked diligently to identify evidence and the suspect driver. Over the course of the last several days, FHP Troopers identified Kelsie Renea Moorman, aged 25, of Memphis, Tennessee, as the driver involved in the hit-and-run traffic crash.

Following the collision, and while driving a Chevy pickup truck, Moorman collided with the juveniles operating a motorized scooter and fled the scene of the crash. The juveniles suffered serious injuries and currently remain hospitalized at this time. Moorman eventually fled to Tennessee where she was located in Memphis via a collaboration between the Florida Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Their work invaluable, Tennessee Troopers helped to recover the vehicle, and an active warrant exist for the arrest of Moorman for leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury.


Pasco County, FL – On Saturday, October 12, 2025, at approximately 10:10 PM, a hit-and-run crash occurred at the intersection of US-19 and New York Avenue.

An unknown vehicle, traveling northbound on US-19 and driven by an unknown person, collided with a Coleman B200 motorcycle traveling eastbound on New York Avenue.

The unknown vehicle fled the scene after the collision.

The motorcycle was operated by a 16-year-old male from Hudson, with a 15-year-old male passenger from New Port Richey.

Both the operator and passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

The Florida Highway Patrol identified Kelsie Renea Moorman, 25, of Memphis, Tennessee, as the driver in a hit-and-run crash on US-19 on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Moorman, driving a Chevy pickup truck, collided with juveniles operating a motorized scooter and fled the scene. The juveniles suffered serious injuries and remain hospitalized.

Moorman fled to Tennessee, where she was located in Memphis through collaboration between the Florida Highway Patrol and Tennessee Highway Patrol. Tennessee troopers recovered the vehicle.

An active warrant exists for Moorman’s arrest on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury.
