Winter Haven Man Wanted for Attempted Second-Degree Murder

Update 10/10/2025 10:16 PM: Raymond Martin Mikeal III has turned himself in at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Bookin facility, according to the Winter Haven Police Department.

Winter Haven, FL – On Thursday, October 2, 2025, 37-year-old Raymond Martin Mikeal III of Winter Haven was in a verbal altercation inside of a residence with a female victim
when Mikeal grabbed the victim’s phone and slammed it to the ground.

He then became physically aggressive by striking the victim multiple times.
The victim attempted to run away from Mikeal, but he violently threw her to
the floor stomping on her numerous times while she was on the ground. He then
grabbed her neck with one hand causing her breathing to be restricted while
using his other hand to strike her in the face.

Ultimately, the victim was able to escape from Mikeal’s grasp and ran for
help. When Winter Haven Police responded, Mikeal had left the area.

Mikeal faces charges for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, False Imprisonment,
Domestic Battery by Strangulation, Criminal Mischief, and Tampering with a
witness (Depriving 9-1-1).
