Lake Panasoffkee, FL – On Friday, October 3, 2025, at approximately 2:41 AM, a 62-year-old man from Lecanto, driving a Toyota Highlander westbound on SR-44, suffered a medical emergency. The vehicle veered off the roadway east of Northwest 33rd Drive, entered a ditch, and collided with a barbed wire fence. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
