Winter Haven, FL – Sunday, September 28, 2025 – Shots rang out early this morning near the 1700 block of 1st St N. A witness described the scene as frightening and chaotic, with innocent bystanders fleeing for safety. Tragically, an individual was struck and killed by a vehicle.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the traffic fatality. The Winter Haven Police Department continues to investigate other elements of the incident. No gunshot victims were reported.
