Monday, September 22, 2025 – The New Port Richey Police Department is investigating an incident at a city lift station near Bandura Avenue and Ashmore Drive involving two City of New Port Richey Public Works employees. The incident, which according this afternoon at approximately 2:30pm, is currently considered accidental, though the investigation remains ongoing.
One employee died from work-related injuries at the scene. The second employee was transported to a local hospital, treated, and released. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police are asking the public to avoid the area to allow first responders and investigators to work without interruption. Further details will be provided to the media on September 23, 2025.
