The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 65 individuals for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol and/or drugs in June. Of these arrests, 14 involved crashes, one suspect had two children in the vehicle at the time of the arrest, and seven were identified as being in the United States illegally, resulting in ICE Holds.
These figures represent only PCSO arrests and do not include DUI arrests made by city police departments or the Florida Highway Patrol in Polk County. The PCSO continues to prioritize road safety through enforcement and public awareness.
Authorities urge drivers to avoid operating vehicles while impaired and encourage the public to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1 immediately.
