24-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck on I-4 Near Mile Marker 27 in Lakeland

Lakeland, FL – On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, shortly after 2:30 a.m., a fatal pedestrian crash occurred on eastbound Interstate 4 near the 27 mile marker in Polk County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Kia Forte driven by a 64-year-old woman from Lakeland was traveling eastbound when a 24-year-old woman from Tampa, who was walking along the highway, entered the travel lane and was struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Nothing further at this time.
