Spring Hill, FL – On June 14, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at Maximilian Avenue and Hazelcrest Street in Spring Hill. A 14-year-old male was shot in the hip and arm, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A second individual, a 15-year-old male, was unharmed.
The suspect, identified as Michael Adrian Nanzrio, born June 8, 2007, fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle before deputies arrived. Initial statements from the victims claimed they were walking south on Maximilian Avenue when an unknown vehicle approached, and an unknown individual began shooting. Further investigation revealed the victims knew Nanzrio and attempted to take his marijuana, prompting Nanzrio to drive away while firing at them, striking the 14-year-old twice.
On July 13, 2025, deputies located Nanzrio at a residence on Bromley Avenue in Spring Hill. He was taken into custody without incident on an active Hernando County warrant. Nanzrio faces charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and discharging a firearm in public. He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, where he was initially held on a $22,000 bond.
