Fatal Rear-End Collision on Interstate 4

Tampa, FL – On Monday, October 20, 2025, at 1:54 PM, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on westbound Interstate 4 near milepost 9. A Ford F250, driven by a 32-year-old male from Thonotosassa, was traveling in the center outside lane behind a Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 34-year-old male from Lake Park. Ahead of the Jeep Cherokee was a Kenworth dump truck, driven by a 44-year-old male from Tampa. Traffic slowed to a stop, and both the Jeep Cherokee and Kenworth dump truck stopped. The Ford F250 failed to stop, colliding with the rear of the Jeep Cherokee. The impact pushed the Jeep Cherokee into the rear of the Kenworth dump truck.

A 34-year-old male passenger from Riviera Beach in the Jeep Cherokee sustained fatal injuries at the scene. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee, a 34-year-old male from Lake Park, a 32-year-old female passenger from West Palm Beach, and a 51-year-old female passenger from Wesley Chapel sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Ford F250 sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Kenworth dump truck was uninjured. Nothing further at this time.
