St. Petersburg Man Charged with Murder and DUI After Chasing Wrong Car in Mistaken Identity

Kyle Hill (DOB 10/04/91)

St. Petersburg Police Press Release :

Today St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway announced that investigators upgraded charges against Kyle Hill (DOB 10/04/91) from DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide to 1st degree murder and attempted 1st degree murder for causing a crash in the 1700 block of 34th Street North on Sunday, March 9, 2025

Shortly before 8 p.m., Hill argued with his ex-girlfriend Sunday evening and she left in a friend’s vehicle.  He decided to drive his Nissan SUV to go find her.

As he was driving south on 34th Street near 30th Avenue North, he saw a Honda and assumed it was his ex-girlfriend. He called his ex-girlfriend, threatened her, and began aggressively chasing and harassing the Honda for several blocks.

Inside the Honda, an innocent couple, Norbelis Figueredo-Campos (DOB 4/20/89) along with his passenger, Arislenni Blanco-Medina (DOB 7/23/96), were on their way to Walmart.

They tried to get away from Hill, but he continued to pursue them. As they were approaching 17th Avenue North, Hill forced them off the road.  The Honda went onto the sidewalk and struck a concrete pole that fell and crushed the car. Blanco-Medina died and Figueredo-Campos was seriously injured.

Hill lost control and hit a tree in the median. His blood alcohol was more than twice the legal limit.

Today Hill was booked into the Pinellas County jail.
