OKEECHOBEE, FL — Three people were killed and several others were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 60 in Osceola County Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:29 a.m. on SR 60 west of Peavine Road. FHP said a 2019 Chevrolet Express van was traveling westbound when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway onto the right shoulder. The 52-year-old Miami driver overcorrected, crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with a 2025 Ram 1500 pickup truck.
Following the initial collision, the van overturned toward the eastbound shoulder and struck a 2023 Toyota Corolla.
The van driver and two male passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. One passenger was identified as a 22-year-old man, while identification of the other passenger remained pending.
A 47-year-old Lakeland woman riding in the pickup suffered critical injuries. The 52-year-old Lakeland driver of the pickup and several occupants of the van suffered serious injuries. The 34-year-old Haines City driver of the Corolla sustained minor injuries.
Multiple patients were transported to area hospitals. The crash remains under investigation by FHP. Nothing further at this time.
